We are excited to introduce our newest Featured Builder, Cember is a 12 year old from Olympia, Washington! Cember loves combining creativity with technology and has created amazing projects with Tynker. Recently, we had the opportunity to chat with Cember about his journey and love of coding.
Do you know what you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be an animator or an ornithologist.
What is your favorite subject at school and why?
Science! This is the most practical subject.
How did you feel when you found out your project was featured on Tynker?
HURA!!!!!!!! I’m very excited.
What’s your favorite project you’ve created so far? What makes it special for you?
I don’t have a favorite. I like them all!
How have your coding skills improved since you started using Tynker?
When I first started, my skills were at an intermediate level, but now they are much better.
What do you usually do with a project after it’s finished?
Finally, I relaxed my fingers and published it.
How does learning to code help prepare you for the future?
I need to code to become an animator.
What is a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
I make comics!

How do you feel about your child learning to code?
I’m so glad he has an outlet for his artistic side that also teaches him useful skills for the future.
What is the most interesting or surprising coding project your child has done so far?
The Sweet Lil Bumblebee project below is really nice and cute.
Besides technical skills, what other benefits do you see your child getting from learning to code?
He became more confident from coding and sharing his projects.
Do you think coding helps your child be better prepared for the future?
Very! He learned patience and problem solving when things went wrong on his projects.
Is there anything else you would like Tynker to improve or add to make the product even better for your child?
He had mentioned that having comments from other Tynker users with input would be very helpful.
